I love this paddle. I've been playing since March and I've tried several different paddles prior to this one. There were things that I liked about each one. This paddle has all of those features. This is a very forgiving paddle, but still performs with plenty of power. My placement has improved dramatically. My hand speed is one of the better parts of my game and I like playing up at the net. So I wanted to take advantage of a lighter weight paddle to see if I could build on what I was doing. Honestly, it doesn't feel much lighter. I can't tell the difference in which is heavier when holding two paddles. But I have noticed my hand speed seems to have increased.

Also, I'm a fan of the aesthetics of this paddle. It looks nice as is and I bought an edge guard and added a hesacore grip with a Sixzero overwrap. Lots of options to customize, if that's your thing.

Great control and power! The is a very consistent paddle from serve to dink to smash! I have the Hawaii Edition which is on 🔥 🔥 🔥. By far, the best looking paddle I own.

I've used the Ruby 16mm and 14mm for the last six months, and they are the best paddles I've ever used. With these paddles, I have so much control over my drop shots and drinks that I hardly think about them anymore, and I never felt that way with the other paddles I've used in the past. Ruby 14mm is a treat. Low Swing weight makes you faster at the NVZ and Kevlar gives the plush feel that makes control a tad more easier than usual 14mm CF.

In my experience Ruby14 is the best of both worlds...control closer 16 and hands speed of 14. For my style, faster hands = more control. The incredibly low launch angle is a very underrated feature, Ruby is absolutely amazing in this aspect.

I'm not a better player because of it, but critical aspects of game certainly improved. I perform better against higher level players.

The only drawback is the handle. It doesn't negatively effect anything, but it could be better. To be precise, the length works for me but the girth feels odd, over grip resolves it.

I’m a gam of DBD 14MM and Ruby14MM. But I wanted to try a paddle with less pop and gives me more control. So Itried DBD16 MM light wt. for a week and It has been a game changer. My drop shots and dink battle at the net and resets are spot on. So happy with DBD 16 light weight!
